This was my first stay at The Lumiares, but it won't be my last. The hotel is lovely, and the rooftop restaurant - Lumi - has absolutely amazing food, both at breakfast (we had breakfast included in our room rate) and at all other times during the day. Their signature cocktail for the month of October - the Pink October - was outstanding, and the views from the restaurant roof deck were fabulous. The location couldn't be better. The funicular to take you up/down the hill to Av. Liberdade and the Rossio train station is literally across the street from the hotel. There are multiple Michelin-recommended restaurants within a 3 block radius, and the Lisbon Botanical Garden is an easy 20 minute walk away. The main park in Barrio Alto is also right across the street, and offers beautiful views of the city. I was traveling with 2 other friends so we booked the 2 bedroom apartment (each bedroom had its own bath). The beds were comfortable and we were amazed that even though we were in the midst of a lively neighborhood (Barrio Alto) and were there on a party night (Halloween!) - the heavy wooden shutters in our room that blocked the windows kept the room completely quiet. We heard nothing from the street outside. The apartment had a kitchenette with everything we could possibly ask for - dishes, glasses, silverware, a dishwasher, a mini fridge, a cooktop, pans - we could have easily cooked for ourselves, if we had wanted to. But truly the best part of our experience there was the people. The hotel staff - from the front desk clerks to the housekeeping staff to everyone working at Lumi - were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that we were happy and enjoying our stay. It was a level of customer service I haven't experienced in a long time, and we really appreciated it. This is a special place.

Lumiares is a wonderful hotel on the edge of the charming, central Bairro Alto district of Lisbon. Over the road is the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara terrace overlooking all of the city. Walk 10 minutes down the hill and you're in the heart of the city and down to the river. The hotel's position makes you feel like you are central, but inside the rooms it's relatively quiet and secluded. The staff in the hotel were exceptional, including finding my daughter's special locket that had disappeared by dismantling the sink to find it in the drain! We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which felt like a great Air BnB but with the infrastructure of a good hotel. We used the small but smart gym, and my family had a couple of nice spa treatments. The terrace roof restaurant has a spectacular view. Room service is super prompt. All round, a great hotel I would stay in again, at an incredibly reasonable room rate for this kind of hotel.

Our room was a beautiful stylish 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. The Lumiares provides you with water daily, coffee, tea and a few little surprises in your kitchen. They went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. They communicated with us and helped us with giving us the highlights of Lisbon, its sites, restaurants, etc. while we were in the U.S. and while we were there. The breakfast was great, the waitstaff was even better, the rooftop bar was fantastic, peaceful and had a beautiful view. The housekeeping was also amazing and kept our apartment very organized and neat, cleaned daily. The front desk was kind as could be and extremely accommodating. This was an amazing stay and we have travelled abroad a lot. We loved the Lumiares and thank all the staff for a wonderful experience.

Great location, close to restaurants and attractions. The room is tastefully decorated, spacious, with a kitchenette, a minibar and air conditioning. Lumi Rooftop Bar and Restaurant - Breakfast, drinks and dinner are served on the 5th floor with stunning views! The food is of high quality and standards. All staff are friendly and helpful, as they should be at such a level of hospitality. What a nice surprise when we entered our room and there was a special treat for hubby’s birthday. The Hotel staff is very helpful and had great recommendations of attractions and of what to do to make the most of the time that we had in Lisbon. Great experience and we can highly recommend this hotel.

The location was perfect in Chiado. Very good walking to shops and restaurants and sites. It is across the street from a cute common area with kiosks and drinks and food and a stage for music, even dancing. Beautiful views all around. The hotel was small but very comfortable with the suites especially. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had during our trip of 3 hotel stays, the staff at breakfast was absolutely amazing. Very friendly and catered to our every whim. The views from the rooftop restaurant where breakfast was served was absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful setting to start your day.
